Michael Milton - Conductor
Soloist TBA - Harp Schubert – Overture to The Magic Harp Handel – Harp Concerto in B-flat Major Mahler – Symphony No. 1 in D Major Join us as we journey from tranquil beauty to dramatic intensity, in a captivating concert that spans centuries of musical brilliance. The afternoon begins with Franz Schubert's Overture to The Magic Harp, an enchanting and lyrical work that sets a tone of magic and wonder. Following this is George Frideric Handel’s Harp Concerto in B-flat Major, where the harp takes centre stage, weaving its elegance and beauty through the rich Baroque textures of the orchestra. Concluding the concert is Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 1 in D Major, the 'Titan'. In our first ever performance of this breath-taking work, the Norwood Symphony Orchestra will take the audience on an emotional journey through triumphant fanfares, pastoral landscapes, lively dances and a funeral march, culminating in a dramatic and awe-inspiring finale. Tickets are available online until 1 hour before the session time. Please have your tickets ready to present at the door, either printed or on your smartphone. All advertised prices are inclusive of a 50c per ticket booking fee, which will be added to your order during check-out, and include a complimentary printed or digital program.
Any remaining tickets will be available at the door from 2pm - cash only. However, as our recent concerts have been popular, we encourage guests to book early online to avoid disappointment. All seating is general admission. You will need to select either stalls or dress circle when booking. Note that the dress circle has limited visibility to the front of the orchestra and is only accessible by stairs. For the comfort of others, we kindly ask that children 12 and under are supervised by an adult at all times and remain quiet while the orchestra is performing. Refunds (excluding the 50c TryBooking fee) are available for change-of-mind up until 48 hours before the event or if you are unable to attend due to illness or extenuating circumstances on the day. All refund requests for online sales must be submitted by email ([email protected]) and will not be processed at the venue box office. |
